The U&K Schools’ Mark builds confidence and develops young people’s leadership skills

What is the U&K Schools’ Mark?

The U&K Schools’ Mark is a an award that recognises and celebrates a school’s commitment to nurturing useful and kind (prosocial) behaviours and leadership across the whole school community.

We are programmed to be prosocial – this award helps schools to notice, name, act and develop that impulse.

Who is the U&K Schools’ Mark for?

The U&K Schools’ Mark is open to all primary schools.

We are currently leading research projects with secondary schools.

Why choose Useful & Kind Unlimited?

Useful & Kind Unlimited is a growing community of schools and organisations recognising the need to lay the foundations of prosocial leadership from an early age. The U&K Schools’ Mark has been developed, trialled and evaluated to support schools in preparing pupils to take an active role in society. In it’s full flourish of being useful and kind there will be a positive impact on pupils, staff, parents, governors, the local community and wider world.

What do we provide?

From the moment your school registers for the U&K Schools’ Mark, you will be warmly welcomed into the U&K community.

Registering will open up a community of people and ideas, providing you access to a dedicated Schools’ Mark Manager, an online network of schools and access to inspirational leaders. We provide tried and tested tools, a U&K curriculum progression document, inspiring case studies and resources for both pupils and adults within the school community.

“The support we have received on our journey towards the U&K Schools’ Mark is above and beyond what I would have expected. U&K's approach is nurturing and support is regular as well as being easy to access. Thank you!”
